Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Runs a bit small
Love the look and feel of these shoes but they run a bit small. Had to buy a shoe stretcher to get them to stop smooshing my toes.

Can a pair of shoes be life-changing?
I bought these shoes about a year ago, and now I'm back for a fresh pair. These are the FIRST shoes in my adult life that have actually fit me properly, and until I found Lems, I didn't know such a thing was possible. I have extra-wide feet, and I've always honored that width by buying shoes several sizes too long. Which makes it hard to have a reasonable stride. Bottom line: because I've lived in clown shoes all my life, I thought it was normal to walk like a clown. What a luxury to have shoes that actually match the shape of my foot, and to walk like a normal human!
Bonus: My previous go-to shoes were extra squishy running shoes, which I discovered had been masking a small neuroma. I went to a podiatrist shortly after I got my Lems, and he scolded me for wearing them. He recommended the squishy shoes plus an added arch support. Instead I listened to my gut, fired the podiatrist, and kept the Lems. The neuroma has long since disappeared. Happy feet! Happy me!
