Shoutout to Devin in Customer Support! The boots are great

    TL;DR

Would recommend! Versatile waterproof boot that LOOKS good off the trails as well. Consider going half a size up if you have been wearing barefoot shoes for a while.

    SIZING & COLOUR SCHEME

I've been wearing Lems for years now and am a women's size 8 in Kourts and 8.5 in the Boulder Summit Waterproof boots. I absolutely loved the Iceberg colour scheme on the Outlander, but they only had them in a size 8, so I ordered that plus an 8.5 in the Evergreen colour scheme. When it arrived, the 8 was just a tiny bit too small and tight in the toe box. I'm not sure whether it is the waterproof membrane adding bulk or me being used to the super-wide toe box of the Boulder Summit, but I was definitely an 8.5 in the Outlander. The toe box on the Outlander is a bit narrower than the Boulder boot, so keep in mind when sizing, especially if you have been wearing barefoot-style shoes for a while.

Unfortunately, the Evergreen in real life is SO much darker than in the photos on the website - the green is almost black and all the colours sort of blend together. If you're looking for a tactical-looking boot, that's great, but I really didn't like it on me. But my size 8 in the Iceberg colour was sold out everywhere :( Then Devin in Customer Service came to my rescue! They somehow managed to locate the last Iceberg 8.5 pair in existence AND send it the very next day, which meant they arrived just in time before my hiking holiday in Acadia National Park in Maine!

    The boots look nice…

    Good shoes, terrible laces

The fit is comfortable and I really like the shoes; however, I had to replace the laces because they were too short for the shoes and were constantly coming untied due to their slippery nature.

Toe Box Too Narrow, Laces Too Short

These boots are attractive and very well constructed. They're obviously high quality. I wore them around my house a good bit before deciding to keep them. Unfortunately, hiking in them has not been pleasant. Walking around the house is one thing; hiking on a rugged, steep trail is another. The toe box is definitely too narrow. After four miles, the sides of my feet were rubbed sore, and my feet still hurt two days later from being "scrunched" up. A larger size would not have helped. I appreciate the zero drop of these boots, but they're not a true barefoot, foot-shaped design. Unfortunately, waterproof barefoot boots are hard to find, and I'll probably be stuck with these on my Kilimanjaro climb. Other reviewers are correct that laces are too short and will need to be replaced.
