Introducing Our Debut Running Footwear

At Lems, our core mission has always been straightforward: footwear should mirror the natural anatomy of the foot, enabling uninhibited, healthy, and effortless movement.

This vision originated back in 2008 when our founder, Andrew Rademacher, grew dissatisfied with the market’s lack of anatomically shaped shoes. Seeking a practical solution, he started deconstructing standard running shoes—stripping away excess padding and bulk to examine why conventional footwear constricted foot movement so heavily.

While Lems built its reputation around everyday casual wear, performance and active movement have always been in our DNA. As a former collegiate decathlete, Andrew kept a runner’s mindset at the core of the brand from day one. Creating a dedicated running model was always part of our long-term plan, and we waited until we could execute it perfectly.

The ZenSpeed returns running to its purest form: unrestrictive, intuitive, and deeply attuned to every stride. Engineered to let you move freely and run without limits.

Why Launch a Running Shoe Now?

Modern running footwear is dominated by over-engineered designs—featuring ultra-thick stack heights, heavy cushioning, and stiff structural elements that separate your feet from natural biomechanics.

While that works for certain athletes, we recognized a growing demand for a different approach.

We believe runners are ready to return to fundamentals: anatomical toe boxes, low-drop platforms, and lightweight designs that allow the foot to flex and function naturally. Entering the run specialty space was a logical next step, allowing us to connect directly with runners who value natural movement and thoughtful footwear design.

Because every runner has unique preferences, we developed two distinct models tailored to different running styles:

• ZenSpeed+ for longer miles and an energetic ride
• ZenSpeed Lite for a more minimal, grounded feel
  

Both models strike a balance between performance functionality and natural foot movement. Each shoe is crafted around our proprietary TrueFit™ last, aligning the toes naturally while providing a secure fit without unnecessary bulk.

Low-drop profiles promote an efficient, natural stride, while calibrated cushioning ensures each style excels in its intended environment—whether tackling long road miles or seeking a lower-profile, minimalist feel.

Additionally, every shoe in the ZenSpeed collection features our lightweight injected rubber outsole. This material significantly reduces weight compared to standard solid rubber while delivering superior durability and high abrasion resistance.

The ZenSpeed series is available in men’s and women’s sizing, offered in both Medium and Wide fit options.

ZenSpeed Lite

The ZenSpeed Lite takes things back to basics.

With a lower drop and reduced stack height, it delivers a more connected, natural feel. It is ideal for runners who want to stay closer to the ground.

With a product release this big, we knew it needed its own visual identity.

So we created something new, our Fast Logo.

Designed to represent movement, speed, and forward momentum, it marks a new chapter for Lems as we step into running.
