I’ve been very happy with the Summit Pro Boots, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a serious hiking boot.
I also own the Boulder Boot Grip, so I can make a direct comparison. The traction on the Summit Pro is on another level. If you’re hiking on wet rock, mud, or steep terrain, the difference is immediately noticeable.
One thing to be aware of is that the Summit Pro does require a break-in period. My pair felt quite stiff out of the box and took about 30 miles before they really molded to my feet. By comparison, my Boulder Boot Grip was comfortable from day one. I don’t consider this a negative though. Given the quality and thickness of the leather, I would expect a premium leather boot like this to need some break-in time.
Once broken in, these boots are outstanding. They remain supportive while providing excellent ankle stability, which has given me a lot of confidence on rough Adirondack trails.
I also want to mention Lems’ customer service. My first pair developed a stitching issue, and Lems took care of it immediately with no hassle. Standing behind your products like that says a lot about a company.
I’ve owned seven other Lems models over the years, and the Summit Pro has become my go-to hiking boot. Between the quality of the boots and the way Lems stands behind its products, I’ll continue recommending them to fellow hikers.

I have the new pair on my feet. Fresh minx oil has been lathered on so they may appear darker than what you receive when you order yours, I’ll have a picture of them before being oiled for you as well. I always oil my boots for their health and I will always recommend that for anyone looking to increase the boots lifespan.
I then have my almost 3 year old boots in the middle which I haven’t cleaned or maintained this year… and we’re 7 months into 2026 already.
I’d like to speak on my previous pair of Lems boots first.
Simply put, they’re the best boot I’ve ever worn. My back is so grateful. I climb roofs every day. Attics a few times a week. 12 hour shifts Monday-Saturday.
I will never have another boot on my foot for work. After a decade in my industry I know where my home is when it comes to my footwear. They have stood the test of time. The only thing that my old boots need is a new outsole. Everything else has held up perfect. I’m dropping them off at a shoe cobbler tomorrow to be restored to continue to be used.
I love how functional they have been. For work and for personal use. They double as a professional look and also when I dress them down for personal hours outside of work. The dual threat of boots one might say.
For the new boot I’ve received,
I’m absolutely terrified. I’m so scared that this boot will not be around in a few years when I need another pair. So now I’m debating on buying a handful of these boots just in case.
