Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Outstanding Everyday Shoes
These shoes are the best: solid, roomy, and unfailingly comfortable. They accommodate an insole I prefer and still offer plenty of space. They wash well and do not change shape or size as long as they are air dried. I've been wearing foot-shaped, zero drop shoes for years and will never go back to other configurations. All the LEMS styles I've tried have been durable and well made.

So good I got another pair
I love my Navy Chillums. They are my “go to” pair that I reach for the most (even though I own 60+ pairs of shoes). I did not need to size up, I bought my usual size. (Perhaps the size is most accurate for people whose big toe is their longest toe?) Also I did not need any break-in as others have noted. Mine were comfortable for extended wear right out of the box. I’ve just ordered the brown leather Chillum and can’t wait to receive it. You rock, LEMS! (My Mariners in Brown and Navy are my next favorites.).

Love the fit, but takes a little time to break in and run small
Totally cute casual shoes in a foot shape - win! However, they did take a little bit of breaking in; as others have mentioned, the heel tilts in slightly and rubs when new and stiff, and I found the tongue to also start off stiff - it left a mark on the top of my foot the first few times I wore them. They also ran a half size small for me; I a consistent 8 wide in almost all shoe brands, and I had to send these back for and 8 1/2.
