Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform

Best of the 3 pairs of Lems I have.
In order of comfort
1. Chelsea boot, sz 10.5 mens.
2. Chillum, sz 10 mens.
3. Primal, sz 10 mens.
The reviews about the chelsea boot being very slppery in the snow are absolutely correct. Treacherous if you are expecting it. Yak trax are a must in the winter.
I wish all my shoes and boots were this comfortable. I generally, greatly, dislike slip-on footwear but these are outstanding. Probably get another pair next year for a backup.
1/2 size up was perfect for me. Chillums a little tight. Primals a little loose. Chelsea boot beyond just right.

Comfortable and super versatile
I’ve had these boots for over 2 years now and love them. They’re rugged enough to hike with and stylish enough to dress up for a night out. Waterproof up to the elastic is a huge plus and makes them great in the rain and snow. They’re super easy to slip on and off and never feel like they’re too loose or slid up and down on my heel. Great everyday kind of boot, indoors and out. Will totally buy again once these wear out.
