Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform

Hawaii excursion approved
Maui vacation - I took a flyer on these and they worked out nicely for a try week run. This was my first pair of "nice sandals" normal would just use a junk pair of tenni's, cheap flip flops, or just go barefoot for outdoor excursions. But had used the primal zens for a year and liked those enough try these out. Wasn't disappointed. They did great on all different kinds of terrain, lava rocks, intertidal zones, sand, jungle streams. Event trusted them enough to jump across wet rocks and climb embankments and other sketchy terrain spots. Think I was sold on then when I was out in some shallow ocean spot where other people were muttering ouch ouch ouch as they waded, where as I had a pain free experience. Probably pushed them to the max of their capabilities going up the cinder cone Pu‘u Ola‘i at Makena. But, they still were sturdy, even in loose soil and sharp rocks. Hard to imagine having had as good of a trip without these, so just wanted to say thanks for making them. Took me into some normally hard to reach areas for photography which really made me feel grateful for these sandals.

Almost perfect.
I’ve been in Chaco’s for years without complaint. Unfortunately our feet change with age and the Chaco footbed was just too hard, I really needed a footbed with more cushioning that didn’t look like a “dad” sandal.
Gave the switchbacks a try, definitely one of the best thought out sandals out there. The one strap adjustment is simple, smooth and can be done on the fly.
My only complaint was with the heel cushioning. Tried them on the carpet, the sandal is definitely secure. I just didn’t feel like I had enough cushion under the heel. Ultimately I didn’t want to take a gamble and took advantage of Lems return policy.
Any other scenario and these would have been my go to’s.

Most Comfortable Sandals Ever
I own several primals but was nervous to buy this because of a slight heel drop.
However, it is barely noticeable and these are the most comfortable sandals I have owned (I previously had other barefoot sandals).
